FAMILY ENGAGEMENT 1995, ECTAC created a Family Engagement Team for the purpose of building the capacity of district and school-based Title I personnel with duties and responsibilities for implementing the statutory requirements of ESSA Title I Part A, Section 1116, Parent and Family Engagement.
The Mission of the ECTAC Family Engagement Team is to support school districts in raising student achievement through the development of meaningful and effective Family Engagement. This is achieved through collaboration, networking, professional development, and the exchange of ideas from member districts across the state.
The next ECTAC Meetings will be held December 3-5, 2018, at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center, 1500 Sand Lake Road, Orlando. We have secured a group rate of $127.00 which includes free parking, and Wifi in the sleeping rooms. Cut off for hotel reservations is Tuesday November 13, 2018. Wednesday, December 5 – 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Family Engagement Development Workshop with Jennie Brassington, Phase 2: Engaging Families in Learning Throughout the Year. (A fee of $145.00 per person is being charged to cover the cost of Jennie’s services.) Session participants will use their SIP to design high impact family engagement strategies that connect to school and student learning goals. Participants will focus on strategy alignment, quality implementation and building buy-in and support at the school level. Family Engagement leaders are invited to bring colleagues from the school level to participate.
