CONSIDER THESE TIPS:
- Invite all parents in multiple formats (website, backpack, marquee, social media, emails, apps, One Call, etc.) and languages, if necessary, of the annual meeting.
- Hold the annual meeting at a convenient time for parents.
- Use easy-to-understand language. (Consider having a translator or translating devices available, if necessary.)
- Provide parents with a schedule of opportunities throughout the year to provide input on the PFE reservation, SWP/SIP plan, compact, and the school- and district-level PFEP.
- Keep compliance documentation (invitations, agenda, sign-in sheets, PPTs, handouts, minutes, childcare/transportation, parents' comments/evaluations, etc.)
- The annual meeting should take place early enough to provide parents with timely the information to assist their children and the school.
- The person providing the training should be knowledgeable about the Title I, Part A program.
